Edible dosing, properly
Edibles are the most predictable way to start with cannabis, because Nevada makes the math easy: 10mg of THC per serving, 100mg per package, printed on the label. The skill is not in the math. It is in the waiting.
The standard that makes dosing legible
Nevada caps a single edible serving at 10mg THC and a package at 100mg, so a chocolate bar scored into ten squares is ten servings, and a tin of ten gummies is one serving each. Wherever you shop in the state, a serving means the same thing, which is exactly what a first-timer needs.
The first-timer protocol
Start with a half serving (5mg) or one serving (10mg). Then wait, at least an hour, before even thinking about more. Eaten cannabis comes on slower than inhaled cannabis and lasts longer, and the most common mistake in the entire industry is re-dosing during the quiet first hour because "it is not working". It is working. It is just not done yet.
Reading the package
The milligram number on an edible is the labeled marketing dose, the same number our menu shows, so the shelf, the package, and your plan all use one figure. Per-serving and per-package numbers are both printed; the per-serving number is the one your protocol cares about.
Picking your lane
Gummies and chocolates make portioning obvious; beverages drink like a serving in a can. If you want a recommendation matched to your evening, ask a budtender in store; they will start by asking what you want the night to feel like.
