Fruity Pebbles OG strain: what the lab panels show

Fruity Pebbles OG, now often listed as FPOG, is an Alien Genetics hybrid of Green Ribbon and Granddaddy Purple crossed with Tahoe Alien, by the account the strain databases share. Among the products on the Las Vegas superstore's shelf that carry a lab panel, Fruity Pebbles OG comes as one infused pre-roll and one vape from Hustler's Ambition.

What it is

By the usual account, Alien Genetics in California crossed Green Ribbon with Granddaddy Purple and bred the result to Tahoe Alien, itself a cross of Tahoe OG and Alien Kush. It came out as a limited release; the accounts put it around 2006 or in 2012. No breeder's own page we found confirms the cross, so it rests on the strain databases, which agree with each other.

Its name borrows a breakfast cereal's, and some listings shorten it to FPOG. All of that is the circulated history, not a lab fact.

What is on our shelf now

Among the products on the Las Vegas superstore's shelf that carry a lab panel, Fruity Pebbles OG comes as one infused pre-roll and one vape from Hustler's Ambition. The infused pre-roll tests 33.8% THC and the vape tests 90.4% THC. Vapes are extracts, so their THC reads far higher than plain flower's. Caryophyllene and limonene each lead one of its two panels (in the terpene guide's words: caryophyllene, warm and peppery, clove and black pepper; limonene, bright citrus, lemon and orange peel). Our per-batch grade, set by each panel rather than by the name, calls the batches on our shelf indica or hybrid.

From our latest menu update. The grade is the five-class spectrum, read from each batch's own panel; the product page always shows the current batch. Search Fruity Pebbles OG on the live menu.

What that means for you

With three named strains behind it, the panel says more than the label. Read each batch's terpenes, then its grade on the five-class spectrum, which sets it by its own panel rather than by the name.

Questions people ask about Fruity Pebbles OG

Is Fruity Pebbles OG indica or sativa?

Fruity Pebbles OG is usually described as a hybrid. That is its reputation, not a lab fact. Our per-batch grade, set by each panel rather than by the name, calls the batches on our shelf indica or hybrid.

How strong is Fruity Pebbles OG?

The infused pre-roll tests 33.8% THC and the vape tests 90.4% THC. Vapes are extracts, so their THC reads far higher than plain flower's. THC is a batch figure, not a property of the name, so the next batch can differ.

What does Fruity Pebbles OG smell and taste like?

Caryophyllene and limonene each lead one of its two panels (in the terpene guide's words: caryophyllene, warm and peppery, clove and black pepper; limonene, bright citrus, lemon and orange peel). Terpenes are a large part of a strain's smell and flavor, which is why we read the panel rather than the name; sulfur compounds a terpene panel does not measure add the skunky note some strains carry.

What effects does Fruity Pebbles OG have?

Effects vary from person to person and from batch to batch, so we do not promise any. What a panel tells you is the chemistry: which terpenes lead, and the grade it earns on the five-class spectrum, shown in this page's shelf table for each batch whose panel carries them.

What is FPOG?

FPOG is the short name strain listings now use for Fruity Pebbles OG, widely credited as an Alien Genetics hybrid of Green Ribbon, Granddaddy Purple and Tahoe Alien.
