Wedding Cake strain: what the lab panels show
Wedding Cake is usually told as Seed Junky Genetics' Triangle Mints #23, a cross of Triangle Kush and Animal Mints; other accounts give it as Cherry Pie crossed with Girl Scout Cookies. Among the products on the Las Vegas superstore's shelf that carry a lab panel, Wedding Cake comes as two infused pre-rolls and two vapes from Claybourne Co. and Kanha.
What it is
By the usual account, Seed Junky Genetics selected it in California from a cross of Triangle Kush and Animal Mints, as Triangle Mints #23. Other accounts give it as a cross of Cherry Pie and Girl Scout Cookies; one strain listing gives both and calls its genetics unconfirmed, and one strain database says the Cherry Pie line is other seed companies' version rather than Seed Junky's. In Canada it is sold as Pink Cookies.
Leafly named it its Strain of the Year in 2019, and growers' entries of it placed at the Emerald Cup in 2018 and 2019. All of that is the circulated history, not a lab fact.
What is on our shelf now
Among the products on the Las Vegas superstore's shelf that carry a lab panel, Wedding Cake comes as two infused pre-rolls and two vapes from Claybourne Co. and Kanha. The infused pre-rolls test 34.7% to 50.4% THC and the vapes test 84.3% to 92.5% THC. Vapes are extracts, so their THC reads far higher than plain flower's. Limonene leads three of its four panels (bright citrus, lemon and orange peel, in the terpene guide's words), with caryophyllene in the top three of every panel. Our per-batch grade, set by each panel rather than by the name, calls the batches on our shelf indica-hybrid or sativa-hybrid.
| Product | Format | THC | Leading terpenes | Our grade |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Claybourne Co. Flyers Wedding Cake 1.5g Infused Blunt | Infused pre-roll | 50.4% | limonene 1.60%, caryophyllene 0.45%, humulene 0.13% | Sativa-Hybrid |

| Claybourne Co. Gassers Wedding Cake 1g Diamonds All In One | Vape | 84.3% | limonene 3.37%, caryophyllene 0.85%, myrcene 0.39% | Sativa-Hybrid |
From our latest menu update. The grade is the five-class spectrum, read from each batch's own panel; the product page always shows the current batch. Search Wedding Cake on the live menu.
What that means for you
Two crosses are told under this name, so the panel matters more than usual. Read each batch's terpenes, then its grade on the five-class spectrum, which sets it by its own panel rather than by the name.
Questions people ask about Wedding Cake
Is Wedding Cake indica or sativa?
Wedding Cake is usually described as a hybrid that leans indica. That is its reputation, not a lab fact. Our per-batch grade, set by each panel rather than by the name, calls the batches on our shelf indica-hybrid or sativa-hybrid.
How strong is Wedding Cake?
The infused pre-rolls test 34.7% to 50.4% THC and the vapes test 84.3% to 92.5% THC. Vapes are extracts, so their THC reads far higher than plain flower's. THC is a batch figure, not a property of the name, so the next batch can differ.
What does Wedding Cake smell and taste like?
Limonene leads three of its four panels (bright citrus, lemon and orange peel, in the terpene guide's words), with caryophyllene in the top three of every panel. Terpenes are a large part of a strain's smell and flavor, which is why we read the panel rather than the name; sulfur compounds a terpene panel does not measure add the skunky note some strains carry.
What effects does Wedding Cake have?
Effects vary from person to person and from batch to batch, so we do not promise any. What a panel tells you is the chemistry: which terpenes lead, and the grade it earns on the five-class spectrum, shown in this page's shelf table for each batch whose panel carries them.
What strain is Wedding Cake?
By the usual account, Seed Junky Genetics' Triangle Mints #23, a cross of Triangle Kush and Animal Mints. Other accounts give it as Cherry Pie crossed with Girl Scout Cookies, and the plants sold under the name can come from either.
